Photo from space shows incredible lack of ice on Lake Michigan, Lake Superior

An image of a nearly ice-free Lake Michigan and Lake Superior -- a rare sight in late January -- was captured Friday by a high-resolution satellite distributed by the National Weather Service. "It's an incredible lack of ice this winter," the National Weather Service in Gaylord said.
